Summer Women’s Bible Study
Wednesdays, June 2 - August 11
Debbie Shrauner will lead the summer women’s Bible study. They will study Beth Moore’s book Breaking Free. The group will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:45-8:45 p.m. in Wesley Hall. Nursery for young children will be available with advance reservations by calling Paula Wagstaff at 817/546-4414 or email her at pwagstaff@myfumc.org . Even if you are unable to attend all sessions, we would still love to have you join us. Workbooks for the study are $15, and can be purchased at Lifeway Christian Bookstores. J. Ellsworth Kalas presents new insights into twelve of Jesus’ parables entering them through the "back side" – through the eyes of a minor or unsympathetic character. By approaching the stories from the back side, basic teachings are clarified and nuances and new meanings come to light. These refreshing glimpses from the back side will provide food for thought for everyone – even those most familiar with the parables of Jesus

Where does the Bible come from? How old are the earliest New Testament manuscripts? How did the Bible come down to us? Discover the journey of adventure, devotion, and faith by those who sometimes at great cost, passed down the message of salvation. We will also read some of the gospels that were not included in the New Testament? The Infancy Gospel of Thomas – account of Jesus’ life as a young boy, The Gospel of Thomas, The Gospel of Peter and the Gospel of Mary.

"The Journeys of the First Christian Missionary – The Apostle Paul"

Dr. Lamar Smith will teach "The Journeys of the First Christian Missionary – The Apostle Paul" at 11:00 in Room 334 - Hosted by the Good Neighbors Class. Dr. Smith has made several trips through Greece and Turkey, tracing the steps of Paul. He will teach from The Acts of the Apostles and share some of his personal experiences. The class will be hosted by Good Neighbors in Room 334 at 11:00 a.m.
